VMworld Hangover
By Lisa Crewe
I’m still trying to recover from VMworld last week. It was an exhausting show, but fun too. We had made a number of announcements prior to the event on the newest version of BalancePoint, a new Channel Partner Program called PartnerPoint, and a sales and marketing partnership with 3PAR and we managed to generate lots of activity.
I had the honor of speaking with the Storage Rapper, Marc Farley at VMworld about the Akorri-3PAR relationship. You can watch the video interview here.
In speaking with folks, it was clear that this year significantly more VMware users are planning to take the next step and virtualize production applications. As a result, management and performance, in particular, was a very hot topic. Akorri CTO Rich Corley was on an Infrastructure Performance panel session with Virtual Instruments. They conducted a survey at the show that indicated that performance concerns were the main factor stopping increased deployment of virtualized business-critical applications and were cited as the primary concern five times more frequently than any other issue.
Akorri has been helping lots of customers address this concern and guarantee performance for business critical apps. You can learn how in our recorded product demo.
Finally, I’d like to thank all of our channel partners that participated in the Akorri booth. It was awesome having you in our booth and we definitely plan to do it again next year.
Looking forward to VMworld, 30th Aug – 2nd Sep 2010 back in San Francisco!
